This also corresponds with my writing journey. I began buying and running websites on WordPress almost 9 years ago, and I have learned a lot of things along the way. While I still own 4 websites where I publish content weekly, the financial rewards are not even close to those on Medium.

However, on my websites, I have full control over my content and how I can market it. Therefore, I believe it is important to maintain both a presence on Medium and my own website.
